Stronger Galaxy S 2 and Galaxy Tab 2 are finally revealed!

Seoul, Korea — The successors of Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab, which set a strong impression in the mobile industry as the rivals of Apple’s iPhone and iPad, were revealed in advance of the Mobile World Congress 2011, which is being held in Barcelona, Spain.
Samsung Electronics released on the 14th the Android-based smartphone Galaxy S 2 and the Galaxy Tab 2. The characteristics of the new Galaxy products are bigger screens than that of the previous models and stronger specifications and performances.

The Galaxy S 2 (model name GT-I9100), the successor of the Galaxy S, compared to the previous 4-inch screen, has a larger 4.3 inch super AMOLED plus display and a 1GHz Exynos dual-core processor as well as a minimized the pixel grid for better quality.
The operating system is Gingerbread, version 2.3, the most recent version of the Android for smartphones, which allows fast response speeds, and the S 2 contains a Near Field Communication module, which is hailed as a new mobile payment method. There is also a gyroscope.
With HSPA+ technology, allowing faster data transfer compared to that of 3G telecommunication, and Bluetooth 3.0+HS technology, the speed of data communication and transfer has increased as well.
The back-facing camera has been upgraded to 8.0 megapixels and can film and play videos up to 1080p full HD. The thinnest part is 8.49 mm, the weight is 117 grams, one gram lighter than the previous model, and with a decrease in energy consumption and an increase in battery charge to 1650 mAh, the per-charge usage time has increased.

While the Galaxy S 2 was released as a upgraded product, the Galaxy Tab 2 (model name P7100) is a completely different product.
First the 7-inch screen of the previous model has been increased to 10.1 inches, larger than the iPad’s (9.7 inch), and the graphics and multimedia processing capabilities were maximized with Nvidia dual-core Tegra 2 processor.
With the increased size, the weight has also increased to 599 grams but with a thickness of 10.9 mm, it is thinner than the previous model. Like the Galaxy S 2, it has a 2.0-megapixel front-facing camera and a 8.0-megapixel back-facing camera that can take and play videos of up to 1080p. The device has 3G and HSPA+ data communication functions but no telephone capability.
The operating system is the new Droid 3.0 Honeycomb, optimized for tablet devices, and 16 GB and 32 GB products will be released first.
Galaxy S 2 is “substitution,” Galaxy Tab 2 is “coexistence” The Galaxy S 2, according to the industry, will be released first in Asia and Europe starting this month.
It is expected that the Galaxy S 2 will become a substitute for the previous model because it has all of the major function of the Galaxy S.
On the other hand, because the Galaxy Tab 2 is a completely different product from the Galaxy Tab, it is expected that the two will coexist in the market. This is because of the differences in size and use between the Galaxy Tab and the Galaxy Tab 2. The date for the sale of the Galaxy Tab 2 hasn’t been announced yet.
The date and the price haven’t been decided but there is a big possibility that the Galaxy S 2 will be priced about the same as the previous model. The price of the Galaxy Tab 2 is expected to increase because of the size and is likely to be similar to the prices of Apple’s iPad and other tablet devices.
